Department of Chemistry
The department of Chemistry is one of thirteen department of IUT with 18 faculty members listed. Before 1985, the department of chemistry was mainly involved in offering service courses to other department of IUT. In 1985, the department of chemistry started the undergraduate program in chemistry and three years later (1988) the graduate program was developed at the M.Sc. level and finally at the PhD. level.
The postgraduate program is active in four different areas, analytical, organic, and physical chemistry. In addition, this department is actively involved in doing basic and applied research mainly in catalysis, sensor, pharmaceutical and industrial chemistry
